Single mothers consistently rank among the most vulnerable. They have higher anxiety rates and chronic stress from economic uncertainty. Their’s is a higher depression rate and mental health burden from isolation and lower workforce participation from barriers to sustainable employment. Al of this contributes to elevated long-term risk to children and increasing the potential on intergenerational impact of instability. To increase chances of stability, instead of generational poverty, there must be a holistic approach and solution. Solutions that stabilize immediate risk, strengthen internal resilience and elevate economic mobility. Changing how we see mothers in need as capable individuals in temporary instability and not just beneficiaries of Public Resources.
